Egypt Automotive 2025 Gears Up for Its 10th Edition in Cairo

On November 4, the highly anticipated 10th edition of the annual Egypt Automotive Summit will kick off at the Triumph Hotel, Fifth Settlement, marking a milestone celebration of a decade of success. Over the past decade, the summit has established itself as the premier strategic platform for the automotive industry in Egypt and the broader region.
This year’s edition comes under the theme “Egypt as a Regional Hub for Automotive Manufacturing… A Dream Come True”, combining a showcase of Egypt’s achievements in supporting the national industry with forward-looking discussions that reflect the ambitions of manufacturers and stakeholders. The summit highlights Egypt’s increasing importance as a gateway for exporting vehicles to African and Middle Eastern markets.
Egypt Automotive Summit Achievements Over Nine Editions
Since its launch in 2014, the Egypt Automotive Summit has been the driving force of the national dialogue on the future of the automotive industry in Egypt. It has directly influenced strategic decisions and government incentives that reshaped the sector. The summit served as the platform where the Automotive Industry Development Program (AIDP) was first presented and debated, before being officially launched in 2022 and activated the following year during the 8th edition, when its full details and implementation plans were revealed.
The summit has also been instrumental in encouraging higher local content in production, leading to the introduction of new incentive tiers linked to value-added components. It further supported aligning Egyptian standards with international quality benchmarks, opening doors for greater export opportunities.
Over the years, the summit played a pivotal role in finalizing export incentives for companies, facilitating manufacturers’ access to land for expansion, and resolving government-related entitlements under the automotive incentive program—benefits that went far beyond customs exemptions. It also paved the way for new initiatives, such as the “Egyptians Abroad Car Import Initiative,” which helped stimulate imports through the use of free zones.
For the automotive feeder industries, the summit became the voice of manufacturers, calling for dedicated financing initiatives. This materialized when up to 15% of the industry support program was allocated to engineering manufacturers, enabling more feeder companies to join the Automotive Industry Development Program.
In terms of policies, the summit has consistently advocated for regulating importers, linking them to specific requirements such as service and maintenance centers, while also introducing a parts numbering system to reduce market chaos and ensure higher service quality for consumers.
The government has responded to many of these calls, including through the Ministry of Finance, which, during the 8th edition, approved adjustments to customs incentives for European companies, allowing them to benefit from national incentive programs.
Over nine years, the summit has evolved into a unifying platform that brings together industry leaders from both international and national companies. It has provided a constructive dialogue channel between investors, government entities, and parliament, reinforcing Egypt’s vision of becoming a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and exports to African markets.
The 10th edition will feature high-level sessions with the participation of global and national industry leaders, government representatives, and a special awards segment honoring key figures and companies that have shaped the summit’s decade-long journey.
Commenting on this milestone, Mohamed Abou El Fotouh, CEO of Egypt Automotive Summit, said:
“This year, we celebrate a decade of hard work and meaningful dialogue that has brought decision-makers and industry leaders together to shape the future of Egypt’s automotive sector. The summit has become far more than an annual event; it has grown into an influential platform that embodies the dreams and ambitions of the industry while strengthening Egypt’s position as a promising regional hub for automotive manufacturing.”
The 10th edition of the Egypt Automotive Summit stands as both a celebration of achievements and a strategic turning point. Having laid the groundwork over the past nine years—through the national strategy, local manufacturing incentives, and export support—the summit is now set to broaden the conversation on Egypt’s role as a regional automotive hub. This includes exploring export opportunities in global markets, with a focus on feeder industries, sustainable energy, and advanced technologies that are shaping the next generation of mobility.
As such, the 10th edition represents not only a festive milestone but also a forward-looking roadmap, bringing together decision-makers and industry leaders to chart a more ambitious future—cementing Egypt’s position as a rising investment destination in the automotive sector.
